The Guitar School Northampton was established in September of 2009 by Lee Kenny. We offer the best in one to one tuition for acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass, ukulele, drums, and singing. In addition to individual lessons, we also run band workshops giving our students the opportunity to create, play, perform and record with other like-minded musicians of a similar age.
Here at Guitar School, we are dedicated to raising the standard of music tuition, not just in Northamptonshire, but now across the internet. We have lesson plans for all ages, levels, and most styles! We take an individual approach to each student, ensuring the development of both strengths and weaknesses whilst gaining a firm understanding of the fundamental elements in playing their instrument of choice.
We now offer the opportunity to take Skype lessons for acoustic, electric guitar, bass, and ukulele. Nothing will ever compare to having a tutor there in person to guide you through the learning process! But for many who can't find a reliable tutor locally, or for those who live too far from a good teacher, Skype is the way forward. If you have viewed one of our video tutorials and would like a more in-depth lesson with one of our instructors, Skype can make this happen no matter where in the world you are located. All you need is a good computer, with a camera and a good internet connection!
We are RGT registered (www.registryofguitartutors.com) and we prepare many of our students for RGT exams with a 100% pass rate. The Guitar School hosts the RGT examinations for Northamptonshire. These are held three times a year, March/April, June/July, and Nov/Dec. In 2012 Lee Kenny was accepted on to the board of examiners for the RGT.
RGT organizes internationally recognized examinations in electric, acoustic, classical and bass guitar - from total beginner to Diploma level - in partnership with London College of Music Exams and is certificated by Thames Valley University. All RGT graded exams are accredited by the Qualifications & Curriculum Authority (QCA), and UCAS points are available for grades 6-8.
Whether it’s for fun or a serious ambition we always cater for the individual, whilst employing contemporary methods of teaching the theoretical and practical elements of playing music.
(Please note that the free online resources part of our site is still under development. We have much more on the way. If there is a song, solo, riff or lesson that you would like to see, just email us and we will do our best to make it so).
